santa rosa police are looking for two men that robbed an armored truck company. track dray mat -- dramatic home video telling us about the shooting death of a three-year- old boy in oakland. the big appearance for the suspect today. we are live in pacifica where the investigation in a deadly dog attack continues. what officials are doing today that may provide clues as to how a pregnant woman was killed. it has been a wild week on wall street. the news just in that could set the direction today. the morning news continues. good morning, thank you for joining us. it's friday, august 12th i'm pam cook. >> and i'm dave clark. let's check weather and traffic. here is steve. we do have low clouds and thick fog. once that burps off -- once that burns off sunshine and

warmer temperatures. 60s and 70s. inland temperatures do come up about 2-6 degrees. traffic looks pretty good on northbound 280 feting up to -- getting up to highway 17. the morning drive will be moving along nicely on the golden gate bridge. southbound traffic is looking good. and the fog doesn't appear to be really thick for drivers. 6:00 let's go back to the desk. sal, we are starting our 6:00 hour with a dramatic overnight news story from santa rosa. police are searching for two gunmen. they stormed into an armored car warehouse late last night. allie rasmus is there to tell us how it caused a terrifying situation for the workers inside. >> reporter: the robbery happened at the garda armored truck service. this business is difficult to find. it's tucked away in an unmarked building. all the trucks are kept in a back parking lot out of sight

from the main road. there is no company sign on the front of the building. the two men that robbed this place knew where the business was. it happened around 11:00 last night. that's when police got a 911 call that came from an employee. police say after the two suspects robbed the workers, they shut the warehouse's high security steel doors behind them and they were locked inside. >> we had to free the employees because the doors were locked, secured. once we freed the pleas we found they were unharmed. police are still look for them. however, they have no sis effect descriptions to give us just yet. police say there is a $2500 reward for any information leading to the information of the arrests of the two

suspected. the man charged in the n a drive-by shooting that killed three-year-old carlos nava is took back in court this orphan. investigateinvestigators say he was aim for rival gang members. manny batts hope the tragic shooting will lead to change. >> monday, august 8th at 1:12:00 p.m. should be the rallying cry for this city to turn itself around. >> denard made a brief court appearance yesterday. the 26-year-old parolee is due back in court to arrange for a lawyer. he could spend the rest of his life in prison if convicted. ktvu has dramatic home video of that shooting now. it shows the horrible scene that unfolded monday afternoon. there you can see two adult

victims that were wounded in the attack on the sidewalk and a crowd gathering nearby. some of this video too disturbing to show you. ktvu viewer is helping -- is hoping to help the little boy's family. 6:03. people are talking about a horrifying story from pacific coo. tara moriarty is on this story now. >> reporter: investigators are hoping that it will provide some clues as to why it attacked. it was only two years old anoa parentally had not attacked before. flowers and candles continue to grow outside the home of napora. she was mauled sometime after her husband left for work.

sales numbers for july posted their biggest gain since march. not a huge gain. but at least as good as economists forecast. most antists -- analysts say this has been a crazy week. u.s. exports are up more than 13% compared to june of last year. exports from california nearly raised $14 billion. that is the 20th month in a row that they have increased. california ranks second behind texas. after adjusting for inflation california experts are actually at the same level they were before the recession. 6:07. in a couple hours from right now. thousands of music fans will flood into golden gate park in san francisco for this years outside land festival. it's a three-day musical

delays. it wasn't major. in case you actually watched the schedule. most people go down to the station at the same time every day and they don't really closely watch the schedule. some do. let's take a look at westbound bay bridge coming up to the bay bridge toll plaza if you are driving into san francisco there will be a small delay. there is a stalled tanker truck. i don't know if it's a tanker truck with hazardous material. it's a truck that is in the right lane westbound in the incline section. so watch for it. it's causing a little bit of slow traffic. the morning commute is going to be effected on ignasha valley road. some people in this area closer to pleasant hill. technically walnut creek are without power. the road is very busy. on friday it might be lighter. >> what direction sal?

>> eastbound. >> thank you. a little mist. really the inland the fog has been compressed. once that gives way it will be sunny. the fog is not going anywhere. it will hang out by the coast. it has been a tough go for the month or so. the morning fog chilly for some. but then sunny and warmer weather. as the high gets a bump up in anticipation of the system. once that does probably later saturday into sunday. i will go with a cooling trend tomorrow. today we get a slight warm up. yesterday we cooled off. now that is away from the coast. a few high clouds could fitter in here from southern california. a lot of 50s. little cooler toward the north bay. mid 50s upper 50s or near 60

good morning, right now traffic is going to be effected by an earlier stalled talk -- truck on the bridge. that is gone. 6:24 let's go back to dave and pam. a bizarre incident on a jet blue flight leads to an arrest. new york police say an 18-year- old vermont man urinated on an 11-year-old girl during a cross country flight. it happened tuesday on a jet blue flight between port ran -- portland, oregon and new york city. he walked down the aisle and urinated on the sleeping girl. this is a very serious incident. >> a number of individuals drunk, intoxicated on a flight they become unruly, they become difficult to handle, they become a security issue for the flight. it could be any number of things. >> the father of sleeping girl did not press charges.

reportedly he wanted to spare his daughter from any further questioning. sheriffs deputies in alabama trying to find two men accused of a fight in a church. it happened sunday at the new welcome baptist church in mobile, county. the minister told the music minister he was being fired from his job. that is when the music minister pulled out a taser and used it on the reverend. deputies say a deacon stabbed the music ministers mother. an incredible story. warrants are being issued for the music minister and chief deacon. a new report says about one of five students dropped out last year. in all 94,000 students did not get a diploma. that is about 18%. here in the bay area, oakland had a drop out rate of 37%. santa clara county about 17%. san francisco 11%. now the state says these new

we start this morning with developing news from walnut creek. a car crashed into a power pole. now some pg&e customers are without power. ly show you live -- i will show you live pictures. walnut creek police say the car hit the power pole sometime after 5:00 this morning. all lanes are closed between l.a. casa via. at least 5 fur -- right now we are in contact with pg&e we will bring you any updates as soon as they are available. >> your time is 6:31. we are still following overnight news that is coming from santa rosa. police are searching for two very bold gunmen. they stormed into an armored car warehouse. allie rasmus has been there all

morning. she is here to tell us about the terrifying news. >> reporter: we saw several employees going go into this building. to give you an idea of where we are this is the back parking lot of the garda armored truck company. as you look across the driveway here, you can see there is refract -- retractable steel doors. we don't know if the robbery happened when the truck was going in or out of the warehouse. these are all questions the san to rosa police have not been able to. but this started just before 11:00 last night. santa rosa police got a 911 call. it came from a company employee that told police two tomorrowed -- stormed this building armed with guns. the two robbers shut the

that they charged with. >> now days you don't want too with young kids. i know what is intended for me. >> reporter: i the family on the other hand is still grieving. grieving. reporting live jade hernandez. vallejo police are investigating a shooting that appears to be the case of mistaken identity. it happened last night. police say a gunman walked toward the victim and fired several times. striking him in the leg. the victim told police he did not know the gunman and has no idea why he was targeted. the gunman is described as a white man in his 20s. he's 5'6" with a thin build.

he was wearing a. bart is still warning protestors may have surprised demonstrations. last night bart shut down cell phone services. coming up we will see how that lead to finger pointing between bart police and public relations officials. more people are taking public transit throughout the bay area right now. cal train ridership is up 12% in june compared to the same time a year ago. bart saw an increase of almost 8%. ridership is up almost 7%. only ac transit and santa cruise. the man that confessed to kick chauncey bailey be sentenced this morning. broussard will receive 25 years

overseas. right now 6:37. we want to go back over to sal to check in on the commute. any problem spots? >> we do. this is walnut creek area on the way up to concord in contra costa county. a vehicle went into the power pole here. heading eastbound toward san carlos drive. now this is very close to heather farms park. and golf course if you are driving eastbound. you know the area. westbound the traffic may also be slowing to take a look. they opened up one lane eastbound. the power is out by the way to some of the intersections. some of the intersections without power come to them and treat them as a four-way stop. the lights -- so plan accordingly. let's take a look the commute.

if you driving to the nimitz freeway traffic is moving nicely. let's go to steve. thank you, sal. a lot of low clouds and fog out there. some of that fog once it lifts will have little bit warmer temperatures inland. yesterday temperatures came down. we will bring them up today because the sea breeze has been cut in half. who that in mind we see warmer inland temps. there is a lot of gray out there. thick fog. coast and inland. could be a little mist and drizzle out there. as the system gets closer it will work its way in. i will mention it just the same. the high that backed off yesterday inches in today as that developing system comes out of the gulf of alaska. cooling trend now really started yesterday. today will be warmer. so it's kind of you know between and then tomorrow i think we will start again. especially sunday into monday as that system moves into the pacific north west. higher clouds might builter in.

oakland drive-by shooting killed three-year-old carlos nava is due in court this afternoon. the suspect lawrence denard is a convicted felon with a long history of violence. there was sharp exchanges last night between the republican presidential candidates and debate inize. minnesota congresswoman michelle bachmann and tim pawlenty dominated the debate by attacking each other opinion police in pacifica said they had no choice but to shoot and kill a pit bull after it attacked them. as tara moriarty tells us he's accused of mauling a pregnant woman to death. >> reporter: they hope a test on the dog provide clues as to why it attacked its owner. it was two years old. it has been raised by the couple since it was a puppy and had not attacked before. flowers and candles continue to pile up in front of the home

after darla napora. her husband left for work around 8:00 yesterday morning. came home at noon. sometime between his wife was killed by one of their two pet pit bulls. >> found the dog hovering around his wife which was on the ground. she had major trauma to her upper body and face. >> reporter: while crews were trying to revive napora the dog lunged at them so they shot and killed him. >> those dogs are dangerous. i wouldn't have one. i wouldn't want my family around one. >> reporter: but police say there were no prior problems at the house and the husband told them the attack was out of the blue. he's staying with family. now in the wake of the infamous dog mauling case in san francisco, that city adopted a mall that said pit bulls must

be spayed or neutered. that does not apply here and in this case the dog was not neutered. the man accused of killing 69 people in a labor party camp in norway may have filmed the whole massacre. anders bevic film -- bra victimmented the massacre. some of those arrests may have been aided by a popular photo sharing website. london posted pictures on flicker. courts are now staying open all night long to help process the cases. we are learning that bart shut down phones in an effort

to keep the peace. the transit agency is still warning protestors may stage surprise demonstrations during the coming days. the protest could disrupt service during peak communication times. bart had a small army of small officers. those officers may have stopped a protest before it started. cell phone service was shut off to everyone inside the station. >> actually the media relations people made that decision. >> he specifically said it was the public elses department that made the decision. >> we suggested it. >> bart is trying to avoid a repeat of this scene one month ago. a demonstration over the deadly police shooting got out of hand. the protest caused delays for the entire system. time now 6:48. let's see how the commute is doing right now. so far so good?

>> so far so good. we've had a couple things going on of course. nothing too major. there are definite slow downs and problems out there. we are looking at highway 4 here. westbound highway 4 is going to be busy coming in from pittsburgh to bay point and of course it's going to be slow in antioch. that is where it begins to slow down usual any. if you are doing the whole trip, most of the trip is going to be slow. ace train by the way. ace train is delayed up to 15 minutes. train number three because of some problems on the track. i imagine it's freight train traffic. train number three and now train number five will be delayed 10-15 minutes. let's move alistening and take a look at -- let's move along and take a look at the power pole that has come down. wires were damaged when the truck hit the power pole there. pg&e is on the scene blocking the right lane. now westbound ignashia valley

road is back open. there is also a traffic light nearby. it will be somewhat slow. eastbound only one lane is open. let's move along and take a look at 237. we are getting a little stop and go traffic here past 880. 6:49 let's go to steve. we have low cloud deck. puts us a little bit more on the low. temperatures will warm up a little bit inland today. not a rot. but a little bit. we have a quiet pattern. it appears a significant low pressure system will move into the pacific northwest over the weekend. that will usher in a cooler pattern. it's a quiet pattern. no extreme one way or another. i would lean more toward the cool. higher clouds continue to work their way up from southern california. no big deal. it's the main low clouds that are over us right now. san to rosa 50-degree -- santa rosa 50 degrees. sea breeze cut in half.

it's still there but not as strong as yesterday. the system that is developing right there pretty impressive for this time of year. we will work our way toward the pacific northwest and northern california. that will give us a cool down. it will be a little warmer not a lot. breezy at times. still a west or sea breeze. fog, sun, and warmer away from the coast. 80s and a lot of low 80s here. 70s around the bay. 87 pittsburgh. 68 alameda. san jose at 77. saratoga 79. 77 palo alto and daily city pacifica tough with that fog over there. upper 50s and low 60s. more fog cooler pattern takes us into the weekend. in the last hour the government report sales u.s. retailers climbed a half of a percent in july.

that is the big jump -- biggest jump in four months. economists had expected to see a little bit more of an increase. sales for may and june were also revised upward. which could be a sign that the economy was not quite as weak as previously believed. if we check in on the market, you can see that it is quite a volatile marketplace. the dow jones up again today. 130 points. but again i listened to quite a few market analysts about the big swings this week. they say even the big swings ons upside indicate a weakness in the financial markets. so we'll keep watching and looking for economic news that could indicate some good news. all right. time now 6:52. sad nows -- news though. another tragedy to tell you about surrounding yosemite. a new york city man says
